Twitch deletes shooter’s live-stream video

… I wonder if this is the kind of “censorship” the Texas social media law is meant to stop? Is Twitch putting itself in the bullseye for lawsuits by patriotic Texans who favor this kind of “proactive” content?

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — The gunman who killed 10 people Saturday in a mass shooting at the Jefferson Avenue Tops Markets location was live-streaming on the internet, authorities said in a press conference.

Live-streaming service Twitch has confirmed the shooter used the service to broadcast the incident.

Twitch sent the following to News 4:

******

We are devastated to hear about the shooting that took place this afternoon in Buffalo, New York. Our hearts go out to the community impacted by this tragedy. Twitch has a zero-tolerance policy against violence of any kind and works swiftly to respond to all incidents. The user has been indefinitely suspended from our service, and we are taking all appropriate action, including monitoring for any accounts rebroadcasting this content.”

Musk believes in free speech as a morality play.

With the FBI now involved, all his sidekicks will be hearing footsteps, maybe a knock on the door… Take 'em down, all of 'em…

Twitch has a zero-tolerance policy against violence of any kind and works swiftly to respond to all incidents.

If you hide the violence it never happened, there is no perp, no crime, no victim, no nutting. Perfect piece!

why does HolyWood not apply these rules to itself?

The hypocrisy is ear shattering!

People fully know the difference between reality and art.

If we banned the book 1984 that would not stop authoritarian dictators.

People in the democratic western world know 1984 is only literature.

Banning books, movies, etc…is violence. It is authoritarian. The end result of which is mass murders by the state. You see it from time to time in South America. I am not surprised it is suggested by someone in S America.

The violence yesterday was criminal. It is banned. Illegal acts are banned as an editorial policy when they are real life. That is very easy to understand.

People fully know the difference between reality and art.

99.99% of people know the difference between reality and cinematic depiction (it’s not always “art”).

The problem is the remaining 0.01% of people. They have a psychological defect that prevents full discerning of the difference. And some small portion of those with this psychological defect will eventually act on their thoughts. And some small portion of those who act will succeed.
