Twitter is bought by Elon Musk

The board of directors ok’s the sale of Twitter to Elon Musk.
Following the link are a couple snippets:…

After a two-week battle against opposition from the platform’s board members, self-declared free speech absolutist Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX and currently the richest man in the world, has succeeded in his bid to buy Twitter…

…In a press release, the Twitter board announced that they had reached an agreement with the multi-billionaire to sell 100 percent of the company at Musk’s original price of $54.20 per share…

…On the road to acquiring Twitter, Musk clashed with Twitter board member Prince Al Waleed bin Talal Al Saud of Saudi Arabia’s royal family, who opposed the takeover attempt.

The board also attempted to block Musk’s takeover by deploying a “poison pill” strategy, a corporate jiu-jitsu move intended to increase the costs of a takeover. It appears that these efforts have failed…

And the leftist are having a meltdown. Whaah, Boo-Hoo, etc.

Here is a different link for comparison of the story.…

“This is a key. Elon Musk as the white knight. Between this positioning and compelling second offer, it might be too much to turn down,” Solomon wrote in the email…

Someone from the SEC probably stopped by the board-room to talk to the Twitter Guys and explain the laws of a Public Company on the Stock Exchanges. Hello… this ain’t china or dubai.

There are sooo many articles and opinions about this… wow. Do a search and read some. An example is:

Twitter’s CEO Parag Agrawal is now attempting to walk the line so as to hopefully keep his job in six months when Musk takes over. According to The New York Times, during a meeting with employees on Monday, he attempted to calm the panic.

“He wants Twitter to be a powerful, positive force in the world, just like all of us,” Agrawal said. “He believes Twitter matters.”

The Daily Mail reports, employees have been told there will be no layoffs or major changes for the next six months until the deal closes.

Twitter can lock down their code to hide the truth all they want but the truth is, their actions have been so obvious, blatant and shameless that we don’t even need the code to understand the severity of the censorship they have used on the American people…

… It’s clear from the Twittergate revelations that the social media giant was deliberately involved in suppressing free speech…

… It had long been suspected that Twitter was, before [Elon Musk] bought it, regularly engaging in a massive fraud against the principles of free speech and creating a slanted public forum. Now it’s demonstrably true, based on the words of those who were running it.

That’s we have learned so far from what journalist Matt Taibbi has dubbed the “Twitter Files.” It’s a compilation of emails from inside of Twitter that show the company was – at the highest level – deeply partisan, and became a ruthless tool of left-wing censorship on a range of key issues and critical election moments…<<

Much more at the link.
Gotta wonder if the same thing happened here at the Fool. Sure seems like it and BTW, this new format ‘sucks’.

Uh, dude, let’s be clear.

Twitter did not amplify the Hunter Biden story for a whole 24 hours while they sought to find out if it was true. They did that because there were so many other stories emanating from the right wing crazy house and it was just prior to the election.

Then they let the Post story stand, and the rest is, well, more conspiracy nonsense.

But I will give you this. I’m willing to have Hunter go to jail if it is proven he did anything wrong, but in return I’ll ask that we send anyone including and especially ex-Presidents to jail if they attempted to provoke others to “find votes” that didn’t exist, stop the lawful transition of power, pressure allies to interfere in US elections, or any of those other things which were are ALL so familiar with.

Seems a troll has responded. Probably trying to change the subject. I bet there are no links to back up his/her/its delusions, either.
