Two W-2s

My daughters taxes should be very easy, in theory. She has a job and a savings account that pays less than $10 in interest. No kids nada.

But she got two W-2s. One is for $250 and she gets these forms that she has $250 in a health savings account (which she doesn’t contribute to) so how will she fill this out? Box 12a.

What’s the best free tax software to steer her towards.

Thanks

But she got two W-2s.
Did she get two separate W-2s?
Or is it a single W-2 (single job) which came in two parts?
Or a W-2 for the job, and then a 2nd W-2 that’s a “corrected” W-2?

If the same employer is listed on both the two W-2 forms, it’s probably not two W-2s.
If it’s different employers, then could be she had a 2nd job. (long ago I had a job where my “employer” for the first 2 weeks or 4 weeks was a temp agency, then after that it was the actual company I was physically at, so I had two W-2s from that single job)

so how will she fill this out? Box 12a.
Whatever is on the W-2 for box 12a (and other boxes) is what she puts in to the tax software.

she gets these forms that she has $250 in a health savings account (which she doesn’t contribute to)
It could be her employer contributed $250 on her behalf to the HSA in 2021.
OR it could be that she has $250 still in her HSA from contributions prior to 2021.
Is she using a High Deductible Health Plan? If she is not covered by an HDHP or is covered by insurance other than a HDHP she might owe taxes on an HSA contribution.
