The discussion took a sharp turn when a reporter asked Trump about Russia potentially breaking a ceasefire agreement. Instead of offering assurances, Trump brushed off the concern. “What if the bomb drops on your head right now?” he said. He went on to argue that Russia had broken agreements with previous US presidents but claimed, “They respect me.”
We’d call that “stimulus” today. Of course it was framed using the childishly silly promise that tax cuts pay for themselves. Modern day proponents of supply side economics point to the economic recover, but somehow “forgot” all about the enormous increases in spending and borrowing as if it never happened.
Today we have a different situation. As of January, the economy was growing, wages were up 2.5%, and inflation was just a bit above the Fed’s target.
Now the government’s policy is to bring down wages by mass layoffs in hopes of counter balancing the inflationary effects of tariffs. So maybe the inflation equation will equal out.
The losers are excited they screwed Zelensky and Ukraine over. They gave everything to Putin and now want to give up the U.S to Russia. This is the greatest shame of the United States ever.
