(Reuters) - Iran has developed an advanced long-range suicide drone “designed to hit Israel’s Tel Aviv, Haifa”, the semi-official Mehr News on Monday quoted Iran’s ground forces chief as saying.

Brigadier General Kiomars Heidari said the drone, named Arash-2, is a newer version of Arash-1.

What good is a suicide drone if it’s shot down before reaching the target?

Suicide drones keep the enemy on their toes defending against them.

Men and women must be trained to defend against suicide drones in addition to their other training.

Israel, for example, spends Millions (billions?) of dollars each year defending itself against rockets, missiles and drones from its enemies.

So how is that any different from what they’re already doing? If anything, it’d be easier to shoot these down compared to the stuff Hamas throws just because they can see them coming in over the Iraqi/Jordanian desert.

I think Iran calls it a suicide drone because they know they would be committing suicide if they launched a military drone into Israel.

Just a wild guess.

You wonder if electronics recording could track a drone to its origin. Just as cellphone data tracked Russian troops to their home base.

That could make for targeting sources. As apparently they now do with artillery.
