We go back to the great (medieval) time

Today in Georgia, a 24 year old women is sentenced to 13 years in prison, because she had a miscarriage and didn’t report it. Setting aside the politics and morals of this story, what this means to these states economically?

Young women, and men had to follow them, will leave these states and most GYN doctors will move away, further exasperating the healthcare services and slowly, these states will decline economically and become a drag on the union.

Policies matter.

Some will; many won’t.

Would you care to bet on whether Georgia’s population will be down next census?

Already GYN doctors are leaving… Do you want to bet on healthcare, women healthcare will get better in these states? That was the thrust of my post.

It is even worse in the economic sphere. Imagine we are teetering into a great depression. Only because he does not know what he is doing.

Did she force the miscarriage? You can’t go to jail for an involuntary medical episode right?

Natural miscarriage. She was charged for “concealing the death of a person” and “abandoning death body”.

Ok she hasn’t gone to prison she is being held. Also this is 4/1 so I am still waiting to see if this is true.

My point is not the politics or merits of the law. When you have a situation with fear hanging over your head, and if you are educated and have options, what would you do? You will move away.
