What do you use for a crypto wallet

Hi
I have a Coinbase account, but they do not handle transactions for some tokens. I don’t fully understand what is needed to securely purchase and securely keep crypto not handled by a service like Coinbase.
What do you use and recommend?

You can look for a different centralized exchange that offers that coin. For example, Binance.US offers FTM. FTX offers LUNA. I have accounts on almost 10 different exchanges. Some have no crypto on them though because I’ve transferred those coins off to hardware wallets or defi. A few I opened to buy certain crypto and don’t use for other stuff.

You can also swap coins in wallets (coinbase wallet, trust wallet, exodus) or decentralized exchanges (uniswap, sushi swap, phantom). There are also hardware wallets to store coins (and offer limited purchases).

I think if you are interested in a certain coin, then you find the exchange/wallet that gets you there.

I recommend that you watch the linked video below. It goes over and suggests 5 different types of wallets and in doing so tells you what they are for. You don’t need all of those now or even in the future, but it is a good overview. You need to make trade offs given your specific situation and some crypto works better with different exchanges/wallets.

If you explore these other options, I recommend starting small and getting a feel for it before putting too much at risk.

Thanks Mike. I won’t be risking much, but I’d like to understand how it all works.
