Hi to all. I’m new here. My name is Rocco and this is my first post. I have been a member for a few months and I have already prepared a portfolio with about 30 stocks for a value of 15,000 dollars. now I would like to continue with an investment of 250 dollars per month but I would like to understand how to use them. Epic advice is for 5 or more new monthly recommendations and I do not know where to place these 250. focus on one stock or divide them on all the new recommendations (it seems to me that the latter hypothesis is not convenient). I await your indications. thanks
Hi Parrott8, welcome to this board! If you are just starting out, I would recommended an index ETF like SPY. The $250 monthly contribution you specified is too small for buying individual stocks. It would only allow you to buy 1 or 2 shares of various stocks, and there would be too much friction buying and selling. If I were you, I would just use that amount to buy SPY each month. Good luck!
Hi. Thanks for the reply.
I’ve already quote of VTI and VXUS. I think that’s are like SPY. isn’t it?
SPY is the S&P 500 - the 500 largest companies in the US. VTI is not the same - it is the total US stock market, including small caps and microcaps. And VXUS is an international stock fund that excludes US companies.
