I am watching a local feed in Mexico with campesino neighbors, beer, and slow mediocre Spanish subtitles.

Most of my neighbors are poor people, and do not follow the USA closely. They are overwhelmingly responding to non-verbal cues. They think the one they viscerally dislike (lots of cousins on the other side of the border) is winning.

Gavin Newsom won tonight.

That was disheartening. In present day America, Image is Everything. I’m guessing that it doesn’t matter to a sizeable portion of Americans that everything that came out of the mouth of TFG was a blatant lie, it only matters that he articulated it well.

As George Costanza advised Jerry Seinfeld on how to beat a lie detector test: “It’s not a lie if you believe it”.

And Gallup shows a majority of the party in question are still day-dreaming about another candidate.

Nixon never recovered after the first debate with stubble and frowns. He may have won on the radio but he lost on TV, and most people watched TV.

The incumbent lost last night on both radio and TV. This is basically unrecoverable, no matter how many months before November.

That was a bit before my time. I probably was not allowed to stay up that late, but, even if I was, I was too young to understand what was going on.

I do remember the howler an incumbent said: that the Soviet Union did not dominate Poland. The moderators were laffing. The challenging candidate was laffing.

RBG’s hubris and NPD set the stage for SCOTUS bias to be shifted.

Today, the incumbent’s hubris n NPD is shifting the executive leg of our governance stool.

NPD - narcissistic personality disorder.

RBG and Diane Feinstein. People kept in office by their aides well past by their “sell by” date.

At the end Feinstein’s daughter was sitting behind her in Senate hearings telling her how to vote.

I was listening to a discussion on TYT this morning. The guys were talking about people who keep their boss working past his “sell by” date, to keep their own cush jobs. One panelist was pushing the guy with the worm in his brain, as an alternative, as if he doesn’t have baggage.

I better get going on trying to get my paternal grandparent’s naturalization papers.

And on the financial side, LNG had a nice pop this morning.

…running the risk of another 200 comment thread: TSLA is up this morning. That would seem to be counter to the expectation of protection for the current vested interests.

The only thing that has changed from 24 hours ago is that more people know the state of the POTATUS.

While officially and publicly, high profile people are rallying around, anyone with a functioning brain and grasp of reality needs to concede that what the naysayers have been saying has been validated.

I would add they also know the former guy is a serial liar who tried to over throw an election.

But he spews his lies with vigor and strength…except when he starts rambling about electric boats and sharks…

And like a machine gun. And too many people confuse confidence for competence (or truth).

Any normal functional political party would have dumped a guy who tried to over throw an election. But the GOP is no longer a functional political party, they are a cult.
