Why there's no egg shortage in Canada

Smaller farms and fewer free range chickens.

So bigger farms(corporate) higher density, leads to more birds getting killed. Maybe we should just not vaccinate them because then we could get to herd immunity much faster. Plus I heard vaccine’s in your eggs causes dementia. :nerd_face:

Nope. Need eggs in your vaccines. Frying a vaccine causes surrender syndrome. They surrendered to the lies they were told and now they have to live with their choice. They are going to get it good and hard.

Reasons given include 1) smaller egg farms, 2) fewer range chicken ranches, and 3) lower temps making chicken houses tighter to keep warm and also exclude wild birds as spreaders of infection better.

Just in case you are not being facetious… :slight_smile:

Chickens do not get immunity to the bird flu because most of them die from it. Additionally, there are multiple variations and some are more contagious and some are more deadly (one strain of bird flu has a 40% mortality rate for humans).

Researchers CRISPR chickens in bid to protect them from bird flu.

No chicken has been found to be naturally immune to the H5N1 avian flu strain that’s been spreading across the world;

Even if a chicken were to develop some form of immunity, that would only be good for a year or two until the next strain becomes dominant - just like with humans and the flu vaccine. Also, the average useful lifespan of an egg laying chicken is only three years so new ones without any immunity would be constantly introduced into the food chain of the farm.
