Wired: DOGE’s Race to the Bottom

Think about this. They are firing the people who were hired in the last 2 years. Usually that is the people who are the youngest and just starting out in their jobs. What they are leaving behind is the people who are the oldest and probably will not be working as hard.

It’s like coming into the police department, firing all the boots or rookies, and leaving all the Sergeants. Then telling them to put down their coffee cups and get to work.

I’ve been away from these discussion boards for too long. I have no idea how some thin-skinned baby could possibly have a problem with factual, investigative reporting.

Last week I posted a Rolling Stone piece on the avian flu. That is now gone too.

Don’t let it bother you. The Fool has changed drastically. There are people on both sides of the political spectrum that are so thin skinned they can’t stand a different view point.

In theory, TMF has adopted a no politics rule for the discussion boards. In practice, politics only gets removed when there are complaints from the community. That leads to … ummm … lets call it spotty enforcement of the rule.

As to your second question, in theory, no, in practice …

I think we understand that anything political is sensitive on TMF. The new administration is taking bold moves creating lots of news. News that impacts the economy should be discussed. But best to avoid naming individuals or political parties.

Yes, we have many participants who are eager to discuss politics but you can’t cross the line.
