Word gets out it causes a bank run. Bank runs do not mean the money is withdrawn. Bank runs mean the money is not there.
A bank run is when the customers of a bank or other financial institution withdraw their deposits at the same time over fears about the bank’s solvency.
That’s the thing. The money isn’t there. Banks loan out the money. Everyone can’t withdraw at the same time.
