Work-From-Homers Beat Jamie Dimon

Jamie Dimon to work-from-homers: You win

“People don’t like commuting, but so what?” JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon said a year ago.

Since then, leverage has shifted to workers as it became clear they would ditch any employer that chains them to their desks five days a week.

I guess Jamie found out that highly qualified people realized they don’t need to work for him.

That commute vs work-from-home discussion is occurring at my work location currently.

I think most return-to-work plans will face some degree of pushback. But, the “5-0” plan (coming in 5 days a week) is amongst the worst. There’s some “salaried staff” and “on-call” expectations that are “6-0” or “7-0” type positions (definitely worse)

There’s Apple’s (AAPL) approach.
Start at 1 day, and grow from there.

I am really surprised how much pushback Apple management is getting for this. Then again, I have never worked on an Apple campus before, so I don’t know what expectations are like.

Bottom line, It all comes down to this:

HEY*!* We got a lot of money invested in those buildings what are we supposed to do with them if y’all don’t come back?
