Yes, there are some unusual dividend cases

Well, here’s one example of a special case. If the company (in this case, ZIM Integrated) says that one must hold shares through March 24, 2023 to be eligible for the Q4 2022 dividend. Wouldn’t that have made the ex-dividend March 23, 2023? Yet, ZIM corporate guidance was that to be eligible to for that particular payout, the ex-dividend date was April 4th, 2023. So ZIM shares went ex-div, the day after the Q4 2022 dividend was paid. The special circumstances are spelled out (page 5)
