Zoom having issues with servers today. Was supposed to have an over 500 person meeting and has been rescheduled.

Hopefully just a temporary issue and they can ensure they have sufficient bandwidth in the coming weeks/months.

A similar story here on Sky News which is one of the main news portals in the UK

Does anyone really believe that such an issue, if real, will not get solved in a day or three? How long did it take to solve the much more serious and complex problem of security?

I’m now in the lunch break from a 400+ person Zoom meeting that is working. So, if they are having issues not everyone is feeling it.

No explanation for what was wrong or what the fix was.

What do you expect? This wasn’t a communication to a developper community or an internal beta group, right?

I was just stating the facts.

But, since you brought up expectations, looking at the page I linked to see what was supplied for other incidents. Here is an example from a few days ago:

Reports of issues joining meetings
Resolved - Our team has resolved the issue impacting some Zoom Meetings participants.
May 13, 09:52 PDT
Monitoring - Our team has identified the root cause as a capacity issue in a portion of a data center due to extremely high volumes of usage in a particular geographic area, leading some participants to have issues with joining meetings and packet loss. This was resolved by reallocating capacity. We will continue to monitor to ensure no further operational impact.

So Zoom does at least sometimes explain what happened and what the fix was.
