With the exception of Tesla the rest of the auto manufacturers are following the tried & true business plan of news models and changing the design of models.
IMO, the Tesla EVs have a link to utility and an appliance. And a limited number of models that with little design change of the models though the Model 3 & Y have been recently refreshed with no major changes.
Yes Tesla is losing some market share. But that was inevitable.
This year’s sale figure seems to indicate: “We Don’t Need No Stinking New Models!”
It seems to me that Tesla has zero interest in the $25-30K EV. The margin is too small.
Tesla is banking on that self-driving and eventually autonomous EVs will win the way.
Definitely the long term plan.

We should also note that although GM has had an EV sales surge.

GM is “reassessing” EV capacity and manufacturing in the US.

GM is pulling back EV plans and will continue to offer several internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles for a bit longer than expected.
