How can a health insurance company charge $2,502.50 for generic Gleevec when Mark Cuban is selling it for $13.40?
Dramatic example of American ignorance and innumeracy. In any other country it would be highway robbery.

How can Dodge charge 500 dollars for a part when I can get the same part on Amazon for $29.37?
Andy
Dodge isn’t charging you $500 for the privilege of having the drug purchase count towards your health insurance deductible. If you buy the $13.40 prescription, it doesn’t count towards the deductible – you have to pay the inflated price.

One is same day availability (and installation?) and the other is 1 or 2 day delivery by 10pm and no installation??
Mike
Except to install the part they charge 3 hours of shop rate on a job that takes 30 minutes. They get you coming and going if you take it into the dealership.
Almost happened to me. Took car in to dealer for repairs. Supposedly ~2 hrs to do the job. 8 hrs later, not done. Cause? Supposedly bad part out of the box.
Generic 100mg Viagra is $8.60 (30 tablets) vs $180+ elsewhere. One TV commercial claims regular price for 9 tablets Viagra is $400+.
