Are Tesla's Emission Credits at Risk?

That revenue stream is now in jeopardy as consumers across Europe shun the brand

Other automakers would be hurt.

“If things go bad for Tesla and they don’t sell enough cars this year, they might not have enough credits for what they promised Stellantis and the others,” said Peter Mock, managing director of the International Council on Clean Transportation. “Tesla is under pressure.”

More than that, EU lawmakers just pulled (part of) the rug out from under Tesla’s emission credits anyway.

They’re giving gas boys three years to reduce emissions instead of one, so they won’t have to buy credits at all … or will be on a slower slope, at least for a while.

Everywhere you turn it’s bad news for Tesla. The stock is up today
