Starting with just that first point, sadly I don’t think anyone would step up to do it. There’s no multi-national group of Arab countries that wants to be in charge of Gaza, or to be seen cooperating with or facilitating Israel resolving this situation. Sure, they have little love for Hamas as an organization (especially Egypt) - but none of them want ownership of the mess. It’s a thankless, no-win, and fraught job - a poisoned chalice, and the countries in the region would much rather see Israel get stuck with it than themselves. I don’t think the UN is going to volunteer either. The idea was mooted by Blinken more than a week ago, but there didn’t seem to be any takers.
