Sure aren’t many left that I like to read. Sad…
Yep. A bunch have migrated to a Discord board setup by a former poster here. Others have migrated to Facebook, but several of us (including albaby) refuse to go to FB.
It is all SO sad!
I hadn’t realized that some people have migrated to FB groups. I wouldn’t know how to find them. I have an account, but I never use it other than occasionally getting a birthday announcement and sending a happy birthday.
And I understand that TMF is still shutting boards down, and not always letting people know in advance.

Yes, TMF has changed a lot. Used to be they talked about “The Wise” and “The Fool”, and “wise” would produce newsletters and such. Now that TMF produces newsletters, they don’t talk about that anymore. I get that they have to make money, but they seem to be going down the exact path that they accused “The Wise” of doing.
I think it was a mistake closing boards. Those boards attracted a lot of eyes, and some of those eyes might wander around and find their premium services. Without those free boards, less eyes. Or so it would seem to me.

TMF once considered humor as valuable.
TMF once considered health discussions as valuable.
TMF once considered diversity as valuable.
TMF once considered individuals as valuable.
TMF once considered posters as valuable.
Now, they appear to consider posters only as potential customers and value mainly
marketing their own “tools”.
Unfortunate unless the products they sell actually produce positive results - all the time,
the marketing will generate a more limited interest population. They may have selected a
bad time - if we enter a long-term recession there may be less interest in equity investments
by younger folks.

…TMF once considered the Direction of David Gardner
David Gardner has, in my opinion, been the best of the best over the years but as I understand David has moved on, David will be missed. It will be interesting to see how MF performs over the next few years.
The only one I am in on FB is RELE Refugees, not sure if there are more.

Me, too.
Can someone post the Discord instructions? I tried joining, but I think my old OS wasn’t supported(?). Since then I upgraded, but didn’t bookmark the instructions and I forget where I saw them. I can find Discord I guess, but no idea what any groups I might be interested in are located (PA was my home board–go ahead, roll your eyes, I loved it there!).
This post by albaby1 on Improve the Fool has an invite link for the discord server. I think that’s what you need to get connected up with the displaced TMF community.

He mentions there’s a time limit on the link, so you might need to reply to him to get a fresh link.

It lets me in but when I try to “claim my acct,” it sez my email is already registered but none of my password guesses worked and it doesn’t offer me an opportunity to get an email to create a new one.
Sorry, I’m not on it. So I don’t really know how to help.

I posted a link to your message on the Discord.
Initially I had some issues with verification, but have none now. When I open it I’m already logged in. A few people there are more fluent with it than I am.
Here is the help page:

This is the “new password” page:

The creator of that forum sent me this link for you:

If mine don’t help, maybe this one will.
Well, I see you were welcomed aboard. Problem resolved, I assume.
Sheila is there also. There’s not specifically a Caring for Parents board, but there is a health board.
Looks interesting as an alternative
