BOFI short squeeze?

I think BOFI may finally get that short squeeze some people have been waiting for.

I think BOFI may finally get that short squeeze some people have been waiting for.

Were I short BOFI, I’d be scrambling for the exits. Banks are seemingly going through the roof amidst sector rotation. A bank such as BOFI with incredible metrics, beaten to a pulp over an onslaught of mysterious short pieces and with a huge short interest would not be a comfy short position.

I think short interest is only updated periodically though I’m sure others know the specifics. It will be interesting to see the next update.

Take care,
A.J.

Short interest is only reported once a month.

Twice a month:

So it looks like it should be reported tomorrow, right? Very curious to see if it’s gone down much yet.

all bank stocks are rallying, so I don’t think there is a short squeeze going on yet, but I think potential we might get one.

If BoFi jumps substantially higher than the sector, that might be the indication of a short squeeze.

In the last 5 days WFC is up 18% while BoFi is up 28%, but Bofi is much smaller so, may be more a matter of Size?? What other banks would be a better comparison.

I just happened to have 17.50 calls (based on a recovery at BoFi). I sold 40% of them this morning (covered my original cost) and holding the rest looking for the possible squeeze.

The chart shows settlement dates. Updated information is not posted until the “dissemination date”, which is about 10 days after the settlement date.
