BREAKING: ELON MUSK OPEN AI BOMBSHELL "AGI Achieved Internally", Q-STAR, Lawsuit to DISSOLVE OpenAI

A most interesting review of Elon Musk’s lawsuit. I had a bone to pick with IBM and I was kind of happy when Bill Gates got the best of them with Windoze. Microsoft controlling AI is quite a different story. It would be nice if Google could also be held accountable. GAI is a mega quantum leap in computing.

That was a great description of OpenAI, thanks. If this is as important a break through as they are saying I am surprised the Government does not come in and put everything under National Security. Would Russia or China allow this to be in the public domain? Do we want other governments getting their hands on this? Something to ponder.

Interesting video. I suspect this is more about profits and power, and less about Terminators and the Matrix. Might be sour grapes. Musk, unable to develop GAI on his own, helps fund OpenAI. Musk is later outmaneuvered by Microsoft.

The lawsuit complains about non-profit research being used in for-profit projects (discussed in the OP video around minute 28). But this is already common practice. (IRS section 501(c)(3) includes scientific research.)

=== snips from lawsuit filing ===
“To further understand why this is important, if OpenAI’s new business model is valid, for every dollar that an investor “invests” by contributing to a non-profit, that investor gets approximately 50 cents back from the state and federal governments in the form of reduced income taxes, so the net cost to them of each $1 of investment is only 50 cents. However, with OpenAI’s new business model, they get the same “for profit” upside as those who invest the conventional way in for-profit corporations and thus do not get an immediate tax write off, financed by the government and, ultimately, the public. From an investment perspective, competing against an entity employing the new OpenAI business model would be like playing a game of basketball where the other team’s baskets are worth twice as many points.”

“Imagine donating to a non-profit whose asserted mission is to protect the Amazon rainforest, but then the non-profit creates a for-profit Amazonian logging company that uses the fruits of the donations to clear the rainforest. That is the story of OpenAI, Inc.”

Certificate Of Incorporation Of A Non-Stock Corporation Openai, Inc.: “This Corporation shall be a nonprofit corporation organized exclusively for charitable and/or educational purposes within the meaning of section 501(c){3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986, as amended, or the corresponding provision of any future United States Internal Revenue law.”

Because wrong doing is commonplace it’s OK. I have a hard time accepting that.

The core of the complaint is that Microsoft’s right’s have lapsed because of the advanced state of the GAI and that Sam Altman is sabotaging this contractual clause in favor of Microsoft (and likely for his personal gain).

Maybe you should watch the video again with more attention to the details.

We do not know, yet, if it is wrong doing. The trial is what will determine that.

Correct but…

Never mind.

A lawyerly look at the case, but first I’m preempting a lawyer joke.

Who charges more?

  • A herd of buffalos
  • A lawyer?
  • Tesla?
