Not quite sure why:
I think that they are overwhelmed by their own success:
Wasnât there a bit in âYes Ministerâ that noted that, as more nations joined the UN, it became harder for the UN to do anything? With more members, it becomes harder to reach a consensus, turning the entire endeavor to an ineffectual tower of babel. Well, if it wasnât in âYes Ministerâ, it should have been.

The other 47 nations are awash in USD. Those nations only have an economy because of the USD. Hard to fit them in.
BRICS is basically a development bank. A lot of countries want to borrow money, but not a lot of countries want to lend money. Plus BRICS countries donât like each other very much. So the countries with money to lend, like China have very different interests than say, India.
Thatâs why the main BRICS accomplishments are things like cultural exchanges.
Bingo! âŚand other somewhat useful diplomatic thingies the Great Leaders can send their tiresome relatives and idiot old party members off to, keeping them mostly out of troublesome activities at home.
Show me what BRICS has actually accomplished beyond blah blah?
Even Chinaâs Belt and Road initiative, physically quite real, often of utility, and actually giving China a useful way to use its world trade income without resorting to dollars, is now showing clear signs of disaster in many localesâŚ. A perilous investment portfolio that may never pay off unless China invades and confiscates.
