What she should have said is "I am a U.S Senator and have been here for 11 years and I have never worked full time in the office the whole time I have been here. The 6 percent she uses is malarkey. Of course most of the people work from home when they must. It’s part of being flexible in the work place.

“We’re five years past COVID and just 6 percent of federal employees work full-time in office. That is unacceptable,” the official said, citing a report from Sen. Joni Ernst, R-Iowa, who co-chairs the congressional DOGE caucus.

One more thing, That is really generous to give them 9 months especially when my company gave me 24 months. Oh hang on 9 is less than 24.

@buynholdisdead - It is actually 8 months. And there are some nuances.

I just saw the email and there isn’t any severance pay. You get to work until September, from home, but must leave after that if you accept it. The media has it all wrong.

Office space costs money. The direction being given is bring everybody back AND sell government buildings. Stupid is as stupid does.

The only thing deleted was Ramaswamy and he only was deleted because of President Musk.

The administration came in with great pomp.
With promises to drain the big swamp.
Through its actions and lies, most realize…
It’s very aligned with Mein Kampf.

It looks like President Musk is trying to toot his own horn. LOL

It is going to be painful for the corrupt and moochers. No mercy.

Nice quote from the show Cobra Kai.
Cruelty causes nations to die.
Why would you cheer, the bringer of fear?
It’s obvious he’s the bad guy.

While it is against board policy to comment on political matters, it would be poor decorum to not recognize art.

Maybe political comment should be allowed if done as poetry?

Insert critical commentary: “I especially like the blend of a film reference in the first line. Cobra Kai is an alliterative tone setter that foreshadows conflict while recollecting the 1980s as important formative years of the protagonist.“

And, obviously, rap included (again, the 80s).

This would almost certainly guarantee civility, and if not that, at least an extra serving of creativity.

But is limerick poetry?

More critical commentary: The rhythm seems a little off. The 8 syllables of the first line is near perfect. But the second line has 9 or 10, and really wants you to choose 9 by going with “cru’lty” and double-timing “causes.” It would feel a bit better to me with one less syllable to get back to 8.

The last line suffers from the same problem - one too many syllables for my ear. Can be fixed by shortening to “obv’us”, but still seems a bit off.

Still, some very nice work and I’m likely getting too picky.

It’s more of a social commentary. For example, have you ever watched Back to the Future? (gotta love the 80s…) Did you know anyone who rooted for Biff Tannen? Yeah, me either.

I appreciate the feedback! Limericks are the classiest of all poetical forms.

I cannot wait to hear DOGE inform the President that his super expensive golf excursions on the taxpayer dime must be eliminated. These trips constitute Remote Work, and DOGE demands that every Federal Employee Must report to the office daily. These trips cause the Secret Service to send large contingents of agents to protect the President, because golf courses are spread out and wide open. Very wasteful spending. I would also like DOGE to investigate any price gouging that has taken place while housing the Secret Service details on these excursions to the President’s golf properties.

If you want DOGE to have ANY credibility, please report back when they rein in this wasteful spending. This is low hanging fruit, it should be child’s play for DOGE to eliminate this profligate waste by an undisciplined President. Leadership starts at the top, lets see some.
