The good news is that us old geezers are happier than h3ll!
I actually got a phone call from Youngest when he was at school, thanking me for having limited his screen time, including his cell phone. He explained that he had been at a party the night before, where everyone was sitting around the perimeter of the room, texting each other rather than talking to each other. Noted that the other students were obsessed with their social media and it was depressing them. This generation is barely employable given their inability to interact with anything but their phone, and it’s showing up in quickly being let go. These kids were guinea pigs early on with social media, followed by impacts via Covid and distance learning. So many challenges for them.
IP,
happy to report that Youngest is doing quite well, and we are finally reaping the benefit of the fiercely independent personality that drove us so crazy as a kid
Finland is the home of Nokia, yet, the Finns are the happiest people, for the eighth year in a row.

Nokia missed the boat on smartphones, and thus on social media as well. Nokia is still a large company, but primarily for telecommunications infrastructure and services.
