After two years of gathering ammunition on the battlefield and open source research, Ukraine is now coming forward with what it says is evidence to suggest that China has long been supplying Russia’s army not just from outside the country but inside also.
For years, Beijing has denied supplying lethal aid to Russia, claiming it cannot control how third countries resell ammunition.
But that defence began to unravel in 2023 with the interception of communications known as the “Discord leaks”, which revealed that Beijing had quietly approved the export of dual-use materials – including weapons-grade components – on two conditions: secrecy and that they be disguised as civilian goods.
I assume this not news to the US government. Yet China still remain a “most favored nation” trading partner.
