Bloomberg analysts make a strong case the Cybertruck is a bigger flop than the Ford Edsel.
However, I think the Cybercab may well be a bigger flop than the Cybertruck. They can’t be used as robotaxis in any meaningful way, and they can’t be sold to the public. Tesla has a short window to get AV riding hailing up and running, otherwise Elon will have the two biggest flops in automotive history.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, of course, but I’ve often thought that this origami pickup was always more of a Negative Equity Edition. It was designed by ruler and is now judged by reality.
