At least in my limited lifetime.
But US EV sales are not thriving. In fact they are anemic.
Rebates have gone away. Tariffs will impact pricing of all new vehicles. EVs still cost more than IC models.
It seems that the IC vehicles will be hanging around the USA for quite a period of time. Decades?
However EV sales in the EU, & China continue to do well decreasing the amount of oil needed in those countries to fuel their respective vehicle fleets. That must have some effect on the world price of oil down.

Electric vehicle](Electric Vehicles | Carscoops) sales in the U.S. haven’t just hit a plateau – they’ve declined. Despite years of growth and aggressive expansion from automakers, new registration data shows that EV sales in May dropped compared to the same month last year. Specifically, registrations fell by 5.9 percent, marking the second straight month of decline and pushing EV market share down as well.
Automakers are cutting back on models that would have been introduced to USA.

new ICE-powered GM vehicles now reportedly back on the table.
According to GM Authority sources, the automaker is now considering ICE models that weren’t previously in development, marking a notable change in The General’s internal product planning.
While GM has continued to invest in ICE technology for its trucks and full-size SUVs, including the upcoming Gen Six Small Block V8 set to debut with the 2027 Silverado, all other future model discussions in recent years have focused heavily on electric vehicles. But now, a new regulatory environment and shifting market conditions are forcing new ICE segments back into the spotlight.
Some of these new ICE models are reportedly already in development, although GM has yet to reveal them publicly.
