Will EV Price War Come to US?

Is it due to lower demand or higher supply (or both)?

I’ve seen articles of slowing EV sales in USA.

I’ve seen articles of slowing EV sales in USA.

It could be even simpler than that: with the prospect of all the EV incentives being repealed, automakers want to get EVs off their lots, before they become entirely unsaleable. I remember some mind blowing deals on analog, CRT TVs, just before broadcasters switched to “hi-def” broadcast in 2009. Mish’s first wife was from metro Detroit, so the two of them would come over to visit the relatives. Mish and I would go out for lunch. Mish said he had never been in a WalMart, so I took him for a look-see. The store was blowing out 27" analog TVs like crazy. People were stripping the TVs out of the boxes right in the parking lot, so they could stuff the TVs in their cars. There were piles of TV packing material all over the place. I was snickering because, in only a couple years, those TVs would be useless without a converter.

The slowing of EV sales is not straight-forward, but it is deliberate. This administration does not believe in climate change and is oil crazy. The NEVI program has been shut down, which was promoting the growth of charging stations (and had some really good requirements for new stations as well, IMHO). The tax credit going away is also going to hurt sales (back in January my Acura dealership had a huge number of ZDX sales for this reason). And while Ford is having sales go down, GM is having a stronger EV sales growth than their ICE models. (For has a stagnant line up, but GM’s lineup is growing, which explains a lot of that).
