Florida, where education goes to die.

Florida, where education goes to die.
Andy
This is hate speech. This is highly illegal and needs to be challenged in Florida and nationally.
We do not need our lawyers falling down on the job. This should be torn down as hate speech.
I am surprised this post is still up. The Gov is still pandering to what he perceives as his base.
Steve
It is exactly what is being taught in the schools. You don’t think it is relevant?
Andy
There are people in this nation who no longer hide their racism. They’re openly celebrating it now.
I find it abhorrent they are spinning it as learning new job skills. But these are kids they are teaching this to, so they are learning by rote and will not be able to reason. I am just waiting for the whataboutism crowd to start chiming in.
Andy
The motivation for the policy is to pander to racists, to get their votes, ie political. Policy can change with every change in regime.
Steve
It isn’t a policy, it is going to be put in the history books. While I suppose it could be changed if another regime came in it will be for 2 years. But they are books, and books last centuries, you can’t burn them all.
Andy
We wont stoop to burning them. Instead the history needs to be written that it is hate speech.
The Florida State Board of Education has formally certified the eligibility for its members to BE SLAVES. They can LEARN SKILLS (which is what they are claiming in their choice(s)). Choices have consequences.
So: Which one to enslave first ??? Or all at once?
Having trouble with your kids misbehaving? Have they been talking back lately? Can’t get them to do their chores?
Have you tried Slavery?©
Slavery has been show to reduce a sassy mouth. No longer do you need to pay your kids an allowance or argue with them about their chores. Need someone to work 90 hours a week? Slavery can help.
Side effects may include depression, whip scars, and suicide. In rare cases, slavery may lead to lynching.
Not recommended for decedents of Europeans, the wealthy, or the non-uppity.
Brought to you by the Florida Department of Education and the Surgeon General of Florida.
The state of Florida recommends lynching your children young. Saves on the A/C.
Slavery is a “traditional family value”. In the Shiny tradition, spawn are property, for parents to do with as they wish. Hence the flood of “parent’s rights” state laws restricting what schools can teach, and people advocating “spare the rod and spoil the child” thinking to beat children into submission.

Looks like someone expanded on my list:
1 . Free Vitamin D
2 . Daily choir practice
3 . Job security
4 . Free lodging
5 . Physical fitness opportunities galore
6. Networking for young Black women (euphemism for rape)
7 . Participation in an efficient criminal-justice system
8 . Opportunities to make new friends
9 . Black lives mattered - hey, slaves were valuable
10 . Juneteenth - if not for slavery, there would be nothing to celebrate.
Just want to point out that Jeffrey Dahmer learned cooking and dissection skills, so … helpful.
Think of all the new skills the physically disabled have learn! Florida should start recommending amputation as a skills-building tool.
And what did they do in Africa, before being snatched? Farmers, herdsmen, homebuilders, weavers, clothing makers, blacksmiths, healers, musicians, all the skills needed in a self-sufficient society, except they weren’t all slaves.
Steve
I can’t believe we got rid of such a great career building tool. I bet they never even said thank you.
Check with the people who created the Advanced Placement course about that.
DB2
Clearly, they were not making their skills available to the Job Creators.
