Does anyone know if

there are such things as new(ish) cars with manual transmissions AND the latest in safety driving aids (BSW, Lane-keeping assist, back-up cameras etc?) I look, but cannot find…

I love these assists in my Forester but yearn for a 3-pedal manual. My wife’s Outback has paddles, an abomination…

I have a 17’ Outback, moved from an 01’ Outback. Most are now installing CVT’s and I feel the same way, hate the shifters… but I believe you can still get a Subie in MT. Did you call/ask?

Do you know about this site? Might check there: https://www.subaruoutback.org/forums/

Have you looked at Mazda.

Ya might have to go to a smaller car than you’d like to still get a manual ?

This article should help:

On a related note, I think the manual transmission is becoming the best anti-theft device out there. I took my car to the dealership the other day and had to wait 45 min while they looked for someone who could drive it.

This was the gist of my earlier post:

https://discussion.fool.com/snl-skit-the-heist-34973393.aspx

It was an SNL skit made to look like a slick car heist movie with a million dollar car but the joke is that the thief doesn’t know how to drive stick. “Why is there a third peddle?”

My kids are 25 and neither they nor their friends have ever seen a stick shift. I started driving a stick shift about their age when I found a good deal on a used car and asked my then boyfriend to test drive it for me. A week later it felt natural. Loved my 88 prelude but had to sell it when I had kids. The back seat was sort of imaginary as it touched the front seat…
