Doge to look into Musk

So it has always been a weapon?

It’s karma, weaponized.

When it is alive, the bird eats the ants.
When it is dead, the ants eat the bird.

Trump’s government is never about fairness. It’s only about what Donald wants today. The policy is very clear for anyone who cares to see it.

For anyone who doesn’t, well, see: karma.

I was wrong on Trump. The bill is going to add $Trillions to the debt.

National debt is now $37 Trillion
2024 spending: $7T
2024 revenue: $5T
2024 deficit: $2T
2024 interest payment: $1T

Elon was wrong. I was overly optimistic about DOGE. No one in politics is interested in fiscal discipline.

The president is threatening to use the power of government to punish a private citizen for exercising his right to free speech.

It is wild how normalized corruption has become in this country.

I salute your willingness to change your mind.
Just curious, and no snark is intended in any way, what was it that allowed you to trust what Trump pitched ?
I don’t believe a single word that comes out of his mouth, but that is my bias. And I have examined that bias with the possibility that I could be wrong. I still retain that bias, his every action and word is strictly self-serving, with the purpose of advancing Trump.

He has been doing that for some time. Arresting and deporting students for supporting Pal rights. Having people who prosecuted Jan 6 defendants fired. Sanctioning companies for DEI policies. Sanctioning law firms that have somehow offended him. Sanctioning news wire services because he dosn’t like their reporting. Why should a gazillionaire be exempt?

@dividends20 Congrats on being able to change your mind.

Not quite. There are still a lot of people who believe in fiscal sanity, but these day they rarely are able to stay in office, because the populace wants more goodies and lower taxes and no longer understands the trouble that brings — and so they vote the good guys out of office more and more often.

These guys

have been and remain invaluable in their research, writings, and coalition building. They had one big season of success (back when Clinton was Prez), and that might happen again.

That is what I am talking about. People want others to be reasonable and not go further left when this administration is as crooked as ever and not a peep. It’s like the center right has left the building and yet they cry when they see socialism starting to take hold. When things go to far to the right or left the other side comes in and drives it further in the other direction. If you can’t have the center right and center left stand together than we will get the popular right and popular left to run the country. Let the party begin.
