El Paso declares state of emergency

Welcome to the party.

ABC News This Week with George Stepanopolis this morning was very discouraging.

Congress has no plans to address immigration issues. There is no consensus on what should be done–even within the parties.

Gridlock seems to be the plan. The best you can do is write your Congressman and urge them to make some deals and move forward.

Because that is the only solution you can come up with? That would be like the North Eastern communities shipping all their homeless to Texas, Everyone could just keep kicking the problem around till it makes it into everybody’s neighborhood.

Random question, if you have a huge influx of new labor, why don’t people offer them work and take the HUGE tax increase from people earning wages??
Let the motivated of them start businesses in whatever camp area/location and have restaurants, grocery, tools, etc. I bet a market area could be set up and stocked in under a month to get it going.
Now you got people that are fed so they can now move to traditional labor roles of construction or maintenance. Bango, then El Paso doubles/triples it’s tax income in under a couple years.
I really do not see why people don’t make this an accepted process.

As a Shiny “thought leader” said, they aren’t from Norway.
