Favorite Tools

Hello all.
As I endeavor to familiarize myself with the info available on the website, I am realizing the ecosystem of The Motley Fool is vast. I’d like to know what is the favorite tool or combination of favorite tools that you utilize from your MF toolbox?
Thank you,
G

I use my.fool.com as the centroid of my Fool activity, to keep track of activity on my favorite boards, and to hold links to any URL.

I nothing much. I use my Firefox web browser

firefox-91.9.1-1.el8_6.x86_64

with uBlock Origin as an ad blocker.

https://ublockorigin.com/

It all runs on my Dell 5820 desktop computer running
Red Hat Enterprise Linux release 8.6 (Ootpa) operating system.

I keep all my financial data in my GnuCash program (a little like Quicken, but it does true double-entry bookkeeping.

I think CAPs is an excellent tool. Once you find players with goals similar to your you can watch their decisions to buy/sell.

Otherwise scan discussion boards that match your interests.

Thank you for the my.fool.com link. I’m finding the hold links feature to be helpful. Follow-up question - with so many boards, how did you choose your favorites? Are they the specific discussion boards for stocks that you are holding?

Hello JeanDavid,
and thank you for your post.
I too use Firefox for a web browser, in conjunction with DuckDuckGo search engine. I appreciate the tips on uBlock and GnuCash.

Hello pauleckler.
The CAPs tool looks interesting and informative to me. Per moldy3’s suggestion, I have added the CAPs home page to My Links list. Now I’ll have to get up to speed with the particulars of the Stats.

Hi BRG2290. Just a friendly suggestion before you get chewed out for posting on this board try posting on one of the subscriber’s boards. The MF is very particular about subscribers posting in the common folks boards. Good luck.

…Follow-up question - with so many boards, how did you choose your favorites? Are they the specific discussion boards for stocks that you are holding?..

The primary reason that I’ve paid for Stock Advisor and Rule Breakers subscriptions for more than 20 years is the knowledge base found in the boards, particularly for stocks that I hold, stocks that I’m studying, any other stocks that I want to track, as well as many general subjects found in premium and non-premium boards. In my opinion, this knowledge base is the heart and soul of Fooldom, and everything else feeds this jewel! I quickly found that having access to timely information helped me be a better, more confident, buy-and-hold investor!

As a Premium Fool, I would point you to the Allocator and Simulator tools as being useful, especially for those who are subscribed to multiple services and are looking for some guidance at constructing a diverse portfolio.

Who would also encourage you, while not strictly a “tool”, to take advantage of Motley Fool Live programming and the Premium Community discussion boards…

The best tool this side of the Mississippi that being Stockrover dot com which will blow your mind with tons of information and keep you guys out of trouble.

Something to ponder.

Quillnpenn - a poor church mouse scratching for a living as a Swing Trader for over 45 years.
------------ Vision - Multi-Millionaire…Goal - earn 1.3% - 2.5% compounded Daily per the 2.5 percent theory.

DIS has been taking a pounding ever since 11/09/21 crossing below the 200 ema. Guessing DIS will sink down to around 75.00.

AXON has lost about 50% in value.
