Last night, DW and I were reminiscing about our trip to Florence this past November (our first international trip in the Covid era), and I suggested that we should do it again. Florence is exhaustingly hot and crowded June-Sept and can be almost as bad in the shoulder months. But November is ideal, esp. if you go late enough in the month to catch the beginning of the holiday lights.
DW said, “Oh, yes!” So I checked to see if the lovely apartment we’d rented last year was available in late November. It was! Then I checked flights and snagged some decent seats at good prices (connect in AMS on the outbound and connect in CDG on the return).
So we’re all booked for 10 nights, returning Dec. 1. Total cost of the apartment is just under $100/night, incl. all taxes and fees. (Booked through VRBO.) The rent is refundable up to 30 days before arrival, and the flights can be changed without a fee (Delta).
Lastly, we expect to get our doses of the new multi-variant vax in early Oct. Fingers crossed this all works out well.
Excited!
