My conclusion was that he was ambushed by the White House. I have never seen a reporter( who was MTG’s boyfriend) ever ask a person in the white house about what they are wearing. That was weird. I also have never seen a Vice President attack a guest. The timeline on Trump where he called Zellensky a Dictator before he met him was just another piece of evidence. Unfortunately the President was correct, this was great TV for Russia.

Perhaps you aren’t paying enough attention then. Russia themselves are saying it, for starters. Trump has a history of worshipping Putin, and any other dictator, and a history of talking down about any democratically elected leader. Now, SecDef is telling our cyber operations to not worry about Russian cyber attacks - stop planning to counter them, stop planning on our own attacks.
At some point the country is going to have to wake up that the guy in charge is aligned against his own country.

That is why our wise government allowed Russia Today in the meeting with Zelensky and Trump but excluded AP and Reuters. It is only fair that Russia state media have access to the president instead of American journalists.

Sooner than that! Our cherished democratic institutions are already under attack and losing functional strength, our standing on the world stage is shrinking, we’re antagonizing our north and south neighbors, and cooperating with Russia to destroy Ukraine… and that’s just a few.
They’re quickly putting Project 2025 into effect with little real resistance.

You can’t have a lasting peace unless you give Zelensky a security agreement. He had a security agreement in 1994 and Russia, China and the United States didn’t honor it. So why would anyone think Zelensky would believe anything Russia is saying? They have broke every treaty they have signed with them.

If only it was one person. Even if the majority of Americans support Ukraine, the majority party does not.
I agree that there’s a good chance we’ll switch gears in four years. Four years is plenty of time to do irreparable harm.
That’s fair, but this isn’t about one meeting. The US just voted down a UN resolution, siding with…Russia. The US just publicly announced a shut down of offensive cyber operations against Russia. Even those close to the Kremlin have stated that US foreign policy is more closely aligned with Russia.

I’m glad you feel that way. I do, too. But it’s already changing and they are quickly doing it. They are weakening anything that stands between them and total domination. They want a monarchy.

Sure, if your goal is a fair democracy, rather than an autocracy. There has been a seismic shift in goals. That causes a seismic shift in how we have to view policy and it’s previously unimaginable impact on the economy. Time for a paradigm shift people.
