Flagged by the community?

My post about the Geopolitical and Macroeconomic impact of last Friday’s White House meeting has been flagged and removed.

Mark my words…this meeting will be seen by history as a true trend change.

I don’t care to modify the post. Everyone whom I care to see it has already seen it.

I posted about that meeting with Zelensky, twice. First with an article about it. Second, the entire 49 minute long video. Changing the content didn’t matter. Both entire threads were pulled.

I’ve found that you can’t separate politics and economics if you want to do it right.

I retired early by being very attentive to the skim, scam, and fraud in our political system. The various forms of price gouging, anti-competitive behavior, and outright crime probably account for 1/3 of the average American family’s monthly spending.

I agree with your statements. My post on the subject were also flagged and removed. I appreciate all the posts that were made in support of Ukraine and Europe. Will our federal government institutions, expertise, and rule of law survive the current Administration?

My Mom used to lick me with a wooden spoon until she was to tired swinging the spoon and it finally broke.

The moral of the story is, they can keep blocking the posts but the story still gets out and what they are doing is inevitable. I can only hope I am providing someone with a pay check.

I’m sure we all have access to the reports, that the media, including these forums are possibly being targeted is worrisome. We live in a geopolitical world, with ALL its twists and turns, communication has become pretty vital to everyone, but there are multiple venues, some easier to navigate than others. I remember the earliest days, after simpler BBS setups when I found the Yahoo Zoo, haven’t paid it much attention lately, but again, there are options…

Crazy times, indeed…

I was very curious about what happened at the White House. The meeting was so polarizing that I didn’t trust anyone’s opinion about it. I had to see it for myself. In my professional lifetime I had the opportunity to do business with very high level people. The objective is to sell at favorable terms whatever it is one is selling. Break the protocol and three strikes you are out. If you can’t get the deal, exit politely, it cost you nothing.

My conclusion, like MacArthur, I would want Zelenskyy to lead the troops but not diplomatic delegations.

I always assumed that “flagged by the community” meant by another poster/moderator. Someone who could be identified by screen name in the way that it’s possible to see who’s :+1: a post, if that feature were available (there’s a thought) So, maybe not??

Interestingly, my post, with the link about how many times Zelensky has expressed gratitude for support from the US, the issue he was being attacked over, has been suppressed, for being “off topic”.

I missed it. Any chance you can send it to me? I’d like to hear your thoughts.

Agreed. It’s easy to focus on the buffoonery and lose sight of the global impacts. The US realigning itself toward Russia will be a game changer on so many levels. Economics, while very important, may be the least concerning when this all shakes out.

Nope. They are flagged by the “politics” of TMF. You can guess which way they “TILT !! TILT !! TILT !!”.

That was an utter embarrassment for America, that meeting. We are now aligned against our allies and with our enemies. Even Russia is openly saying the US foreign policy is now aligned with theirs. And half the country is either too blind to see this, or openly cheering it on.

From Heather Cox Richardson this morning:
During the 2024 campaign, Trump said repeatedly that he would end the war in Ukraine. Shortly after the election, a newspaper reporter asked Nikolai Patrushev, who is close to Putin, if Trump’s election would mean “positive changes from Russia’s point of view.” Patrushev answered: “To achieve success in the elections, Donald Trump relied on certain forces to which he has corresponding obligations. And as a responsible person, he will be obliged to fulfill them.”

Our president is NOT acting in the best interests of America.

How did I now this would happen? I’m sorry, Wendy, for these restrictions of free speech and honest discussion.

Politics is openly wedded to democracy, freedom, and economic advantage. We can pretend that isn’t so, but we’ll be whistling while Rome burns.

Count on this post to be flagged in three… two… one…

One person aligning himself to Russia is not the same as the US. Yes he has a cult but the majority of Americans want nothing to do with Russia. They understand who the real villains are in this world. After this 4 years I think you will see a much different face on America.

A couple of points:

Ukraine must secure munitions from ANYONE who will listen. If they are not enough, escalation to secure munitions from ANYONE who will listen must be done.

If the USA backs down on funding, munitions or guidance, Ukraine must secure these from ANYONE who will listen.

If USA steps up our commitments, at what point does it become mutually assured WW3?

I am embarrassed to see “unstately” like conduct from USA’s Oval Office, but I am also curious to see that something like this is simply the world seeing the curtain being pulled back due to personality, style and (dare I say it?) tactics.

Agree or disagree with approach, intent and skillset, there are much larger implications at stake behind what we saw on screen. Those implications matter for all involved.

I don’t understand the “align with Russia” comments. There are words, there are actions and there are long term patterns. Shifting the narrative for a moment FEELS big, but does it necessarily portend BIG actions? This is speculation and is OT.

Conflating this one meeting with further alignments and decisions is poor logic and should not be ASSUMED.

One thing is for certain. Ukraine is reaching out to other allies because THEY HAVE NO CHOICE. This is a powerplay. We are seeing the dynamic change from a focus on one party to another. I consider any resultant actions to be in focus, NOT the conversation.

They have it all wrong. What they need to do is bring back the Fairness Act and apply it to all outlets. That way everyone will know both sides of a story instead of just one.
