OK it ain’t free. You download the app free but there is a monthly charge.
Scotty has signed up for the pro level-$59.59/month. He is a mechanic and he believes the app provides better information that he subscribes from other sources and it is cheaper.
An individual that wishes to fix their can subscribe for $7.99/month. But that price is going up.
It appears to me that this is not a subscription model. That one could sign up for a month fix their vehicle and cancel.
You can ask the app a question. And gives correct parts numbers.
Scotty believes it is a good teaching tool as goes step by step.
I don’t see the advantage over owning an OBD2 scanner. An OBD2 reads the diagnostic error code, you google the code, and you have a number of hits showing you how to fix the problem. All for the one-time cost of purchasing the scanner.
Depends on the scanner I suppose. I have a cheapy scanner. It gave me a Evaporative Emission Control System (EVAP) code. I had to look online to see what the problem might be. In my case, I tried the cheapest solution first which was a new gas cap which worked. So I didn’t have to replace the charcoal canister.
Apparently the MECH AI gives instruction how to repair. And if it is an electrical problem; it gives wiring diagrams.
