Good news for LLY - Mounjaro

This is a large study showing that Eli Lilly’s GLP-1 drug, Mounjaro, may help lower heart attack risk by 33% in patients who have both diabetes and heart disease compared with another drug used to treat this condition. Major adverse cardiovascular events (MACE) include heart attack, stroke, and death from any cause.

At the study’s conclusion, researchers found that after one year, participants in the tirzepatide group had a 2.9% MACE risk, compared with 4.4% in the sitagliptin group.

Scientists also estimated that for every 70 study participants who started tirzepatide, one case of MACE could be prevented.

That’s a significant difference. And with younger people getting diabetes and heart failure the market is growing.

Interesting, as a Mounjaro user for the past year or so, to lower my A1C as well as weight loss, it has worked well, no real side affects, and I’ve lost about 70 pounds as I had been near or a bit over 300# , now down to 229 as of yesterday… A1C also fell into line as well… My Insurance approved tis next year, costing me $50/mo, with a few hiccups along the way, a few hit me for $150/mo as the Rx missed the 90 day supply game… No heart issues or at least major, so maybe a lucky hit in any case… Both my cardiologist & my PA reccomended the Mounjaro over others…

Onward! Thanks Wendy! - weco
