And there are tons of not-news items that are really pretty impressive if you think about them.
For example, commercial airlines worldwide put anywhere from a handful to about 400 people into an aluminum tube and shoved that tube through the air thousands of feet off the ground at speeds up to just barely under the speed of sound, approximately 16.9 million times in 2021 (down, due to covid and responses thereto, from the normal 38.9 million). And on ONLY EIGHT of those occasions did the aluminum tubes crash, killing a total of 114 people.
