Sorry, I deleted my original post because the data was too small to read, and this one is only slightly better.

I have commitments next week and decided to close out June on the 29th rather than on the 30th.

I am a daily follower of Saul’s Investment Discussions reading almost every post and am forever indebted to the influence of this community on my investing.

My process focus is heavily based on revenue growth metrics and Saul’s Knowledgebase; however, the basis of my entry/management/exit decisions are not always consistent with these concepts. For this reason, some of my posts have been rightfully deleted before I fully understood community guidelines, and this is the reason I do not post more often.

I believe info on my holdings and performance may be of some value here, and I would like to submit this monthly. I am summarizing my process in this post but will not make further comments when they deviate from the Knowledgebase.

A summary:

  • **Entry and Exit decisions are made from a personal database of the financial metrics of a watchlist of hypergrowth stocks. 90% of these tickers have been held or discussed in depth in this community in the last 18 months and 10% come from personal screens for hypergrowth companies. **
  • The database includes 20 financial metrics on each of the current 125 tickers, which are updated monthly with a single dump, but are also edited during earnings season.
  • Key metrics are numerically weighted positively or negatively for performance against personal targets, and the sum of these weightings is auto-generated for each ticker in a Target Metrics Achieved Ranking. The quality of the system is dependent on my weighting choices, and efforts to improve the quality remains an evolutionary process.
  • The database is sorted by ticker based on their Target Metrics Achieved Ranking
  • I posted a copy of my database a few months ago without realizing you do not allow spreadsheet data, and I now understand why it was deleted.
  • When funds are available the ticker with the highest Target Metrics Achieved Ranking is reviewed first and if rejected, the second highest is then reviewed, etc.
  • The data base is powerful historically, but near-term stock movement is driven mostly be the next quarters results, which is the target of the reviews.
  • My entry decisions are more heavily weighted on value, than is defined in the Knowledgebase.
  • Exits are usually triggered by Knowledgebase Rules; however, more aggressive trimming occurs as the ticker price reaches my resistance zone.
  • I came to Saul’s Community after 25 years of option trading and you will note in my report a small % of total funds allocated each month to options and will not comment on their use.
  • I do not use margin as a routine, but from time to time you may see my cash position to go slightly negative.
  • I do not have a maximum number of tickers but hold more than most here. While this perhaps constrains the maximum potential return, I feel is also reduces to a greater degree the risk of the impact of unexpected major pull backs in hypergrowth tickers with mostly positive metrics.

**I understand the power of a community of 180 investors each making contributions to the success of a common strategy, and do not seek to reshape or dilute this power in any way. Since I am holding most of the same tickers for the same reasons as the rest of the community, I request the opportunity to post my holdings and results monthly with minimal commentary. **

Hi, Graydrake. It would be a lot more helpful if you explained your thought process behind your investments. The spreadsheet doesn’t give us any insight into the companies, why you’re half in cash, what your definition of value is, etc.

Hey Graydrake, When you post those spreadsheets the first one was fine. You just need to left click twice and it brings it up bigger.

I really respect what Saul and his followers have accomplished. The annualized returns have changed my decades long investing process.

I have a couple guys I talk investing with once a week. Last week one guy suggested a new approach that involved a stream of trades on specific tickers over many months. My response – right now I do not want take the time to understand/trial/assess/finesse a new system, because this will dilute the time I am spending to achieve the success on my current hypergrowth strategy – on a system that may or may not improve my performance. If I have add’l time, I should spend it finessing my existing system.

Saul patiently and compassionately deleted several of my posts, and an earlier version of my data base, not because he felt the concepts would be unsuccessful, but because they reshaped entry/management/exit strategy he created and honed for 30 years. A strategy whose 31% avg return would turn $10k in an IRA into over $25 million in this time. The power of this community is the singular focus by 180 plus investors doing the same thing on the same tickers. I get that. I honor that.

Saul’s system works. I am only requesting submittal of my holdings and performance, because this info may add tickers to your watchlist, and perhaps to your portfolios. I look at every post from this community. My tickers are almost the same as the bulk of the members, but my entries/management/trimming/exits are inconsistent with the bulk of the membership.

This group has provided enormous help to me, perhaps I can give back a little bit without diluting the focus on a truly great investing strategy.

You are going to say, Gray, while did you drift away from just using Saul’s concepts. As my watch list began to grow the time listening to quarterly reports, multi pages penciling in financials (I would never remember), just was not working for me, so I began the database – an attempt to create the possibility of achieving some of what Saul did using my personal skill set.

I was not half in cash on June 29, I was 12.7% in cash. A short-term condition.

This is a conversation that is diluting the intent of Saul’s Community, so I will only summarize my original post on this tread. I weight about 20 metrics for compliance against personal targets and add the total to generate a ranking number for each ticker. The value items are the ratio of stock price to any one of a number of financial metrics, each of which is not unlike PEG in a profitable company and my value is the sum of the weightings.

The community does exactly the same thing, however, as a memory challenged guy, I have to document the info so I can visually compare results.
