Graydrake’s July 2025 Portfolio Update
I am an older guy - mid-80’s - with a few decades of investing under my belt, who has struggled and failed at the memory requirements for a strict adherence to Saul’s reporting process.
I populate my database of tickers of interest from posts here and screens on a number of external sights. I then add key Growth, Value and Profitability metrics with compliance targets for each. These metrics are weighted for compliance to personal targets with the database assembling a Metric Targets Achieved ranking for each ticker.
When funds are available to trade, I check out the highest rated ticker first, primarily using corporate data for my entry decision. Unfortunately, I have not found a way to document the corporate details that drove my decisions and cannot sufficiently remember the details as remarkably done by most here. With conditional formatting the database becomes a visual tracker, “memory jogger” for my system’s ranking of ticker quality - worse than the value of memory, but necessary for me.
I attempted to share my database, but it was rightfully deleted as outside Saul’s process guidelines
My entry decisions follow Saul’s process almost exclusively, but my exits are influenced more by a personal judgement of risk - reward based on both Metric Rankings and my probability of investment gains over the next month, so I will not dilute your time by discussion of exit strategy.
If my compliance failure to meet requested month end reporting detail is distracting, let me know and I will not report in future months.
I am forever grateful for the contribution Saul and this community have made to my investing strategy.
