Greenworks Customer Service and Warranty

Gets an A from us. Our 80V chainsaw, just shy of it’s 4 year warranty, died on us. We have our tools registered with Greenworks and contacted them. DH emailed them a short video of what was going on and two days later we had a new chainsaw on our doorstep. No battery, of course, as those have much shorter warranties.

There is little we have not liked about this line of products.

I have never used a battery powered chainsaw, how do you like them compared to gas powered ? The noise and smelly-exhaust of the gas powered are definitely a downside, but they cut good and run all day.

Absolutely love it. Had a Stihl and like this one better because we kill gas powered small engines with lack of maintenance. We cut up several large trees with this one. Have the 18" blade and you can get larger. The greenworks is so much quieter, no fumes, and the battery lasts long enough for a second one to recharge. We run out of power before the battery does, not really doing full day yard work anymore, so just perfect with two batteries.

We are less thrilled with the pole saw, as it is just too cumbersome to use. Weedwacker not my favorite either, as it kicks up too much and you need head to toe protection from flying debris. It’s too powerful. Have the regular mower, which is great if you don’t have much to mow, a couple of blowers, as a sale came up where it was cheaper to buy a blower with battery instead of another battery, hedge clippers, which I love.

We have been Greenworks fans since 2017 and have had two of the early batteries die on us. Generic batteries on Amazon are a good value, and we found that Lowes takes the dead batteries in their drop off recycling bin, even though they don’t sell the brand.

i bought an electric (not battery) chainsaw a few years ago and I love it. It has plenty of power and is quite amazing just to chime in on this topic…doc

Heh. I cut through too many extension cords with my hedge trimmer to buy a corded anything. Plus our yard is too big to make cords practical for cutting trees. Glad corded works for your situation!

If you have any neighbors in hearing distance, I’m sure they appreciate the battery powered tools ! Around here in the Fall, the landscape crews with the gas powered leaf blowers can drive ya nuts !

Absolutely. The requirement for personal ear protection is minimized as well. DH is militant on ear and eye protection, and even he is willing to go without ear plugs.

Just adding another endorsement for going battery. I picked up an EGo battery chainsaw last year and love it. I have used one of the prosumer Stihl gas saws in the past for hurricane cleanup, and it had a ton of power. For a homeowner where it gets used occasionally, the battery chainsaw is perfect. Great power, quiet, no need to purchase/mix/store gas. And, if you want to pull it out for 30 seconds to cut a branch or something, it’s super convenient.

As a bonus, the saw batteries are interchangeable with their blower that I already had (one of the reasons I stuck with the EGo brand). Their entire lineup uses the same 56V lithium ion battery.

Ditto for Greenworks, as long as it is in the same power line. We use the same battery for all the tools we have. There’s a lower level than 80V, but since the first purchase for us was the mower, we went as high as possible. Had lots of oak trees on that property!

I have a GW 16" and love it - cuts very well, less weight than my 2014 Jonsered, beautiful to just recharge and go after months of non-use instead of worrying about mixing gas. I keep the Jonsered as backup for if the battery runs out before I do, or the slightly tougher/larger cutups I need.

I have several Greenworks tools. Started with the mower, then got the 16" chainsaw, then the trimmer, then the leaf blower (which I use to blow up our whitewater raft…never to actually blow leaves). Great tools!

I haven’t gone to the larger battery tools, other than a little 8" Ryoby hedge trimmer…

I just don’t do as much as I used to, we found a nice family Dad is a landscaper for the school district, but does side work, with his family on weekends, saved me a ton of work…

That said, I, years ago, bought a gas, Husquevarna combo setup, hedge trimmer, weed eater, brush cutter, paid dearly for it to reach a couple big hedges, and after trying a corded Bosch hedge trimmer, which ate the cord a few times, I went for the real deal… Scary power, but really does a great job, but yes, it is loud, earplugs, the waxy yellow foam ones are best, as well as safety glasses…

I gave away an Echo gas leaf blower, a Homelite gas string trimmer, just can’t let the Huque go… So far…
