At one time, it seemed Goldman had things it’s way, making a bundle no matter what happened. They did not do well last year. Today, GS is down about 3% on it’s quarterly report.
Maybe. They moved away from their core competency (investment banking, wealth management) into consumer banking and have been losing money in that new segment since they started it. There’s talk on the street of them selling their consumer banking division, but right now investment banking is way down, so they are kind of in a catch-22.
