I hate the sudden spate of zombie threads

If a thread hasn’t had a post in 6 months or more, rather than posting in it, please start a new thread. When I see one of these reanimated threads, I go the the end, click on tracking, and click on mute. I am sure that I am missing TMF brilliance but I have better things to do that reread rehashed arguments.
Thanks.

I would disagree. Adding on adds continuity and makes it easier to follow developments over time. Not to mention following up on earlier predictions.

I will rethink my position.

Alternatives:
put a link to the old thread if it has been dormant for a long time.
Maybe make the new thread have the same name, with a “part 2” suffix

I do not follow a lot of those. I do not delve into them.

BUT I like them. I like to see that someone actually took time to see the past and the present. At times I am proud of what I wrote ten months ago. Other times things have resolved one way or another.

This level of maturity is not recognized enough.
