I miss the days when the leader of the most powerful country on Earth didn’t feel the need to tank the stock of the most valuable company on Earth by an off-the-cuff and ill-conceived remark:
Apple shares fell 3% Friday after President Donald Trump threatened the tech giant with a 25% tariff if it does not start producing iPhones in the U.S. — his latest salvo directly targeting a U.S. company over how it conducts its business.
I’ve seen estimates that it would take at least three years to spin up the manufacturing needed to make all iPhones in the U.S., and triple the price of an iPhone as well.
Oh wait, I have a brilliant idea! Let’s kill two birds with one stone and instead of deporting all those illegal immigrants, lets put them to work in Apple manufacturing plants in the U.S. for minimum wages. Yeah, that’s the ticket.
