Nah, I’m pretty sure than any of the tech billionaires standing behind Trump at the Inauguration will be exempt from the tariff regime.
{{ The iPhone is exempt from the White House’s latest escalation of the trade war with China, the Trump administration quietly announced late Friday.
The disclosure came after more than a week of existential dread. At one point, Apple AAPL 4.06%increase; green up pointing triangle had lost almost $800 billion of market value after Trump officials claimed imposing sky-high tariffs on Chinese-made goods would shift iPhone assembly to American factories. }}

It might be less expensive to fly to China, screw it together, and then fly it back to US.
In fact, definitely less expensive if you can do say 4 phones per trip, for example if you have a friends and family phone plan.
Not as good for CO2 emissions, but it supports the airline and aerospace industries and Tim Cook can probably just buy some carbon credits from Leon.
Problem solved.
Ah, you laff now. When Radio Shack was selling Nokia knockoffs, in the 80s, the phones were air freighted from South Korea. I wonder if the phone Danny Glover luged around in the original “Lethal Weapon” was a Nokia, or the RS knockoff?
Nah it is just going to be lower.
