I sure hope this board is considered financial

I really appreciate this board and the advice and commentary here.

Whatever happens, I wish all of you a happy future.

Hopefully because this board is categorized under “Investing/Strategies”, this one will be OK.

As near as I can tell, if you don’t see the banner announcement when you go to this board, then it won’t be closed. I don’t see the banner here. But I do on the Photography board, for example.

Oh, this board is as financial as it gets. No problem here, I’m sure. But another example, the Christian Fools board, where I used to participate more, and has now become much less active, has the banner prominently displayed across the top.

Atheist Fools, too. At least we’re not being singled-out!

What’s odd to me is that “Retire Early Liberal Edition” isn’t considered financial. That board was opened when the CampFIRE board went all-in with the vitriol. We still discuss early retirement on RELE, but there is “other stuff” as well. Someone posted a link to Firewannabees, which is also early retirement. So I guess that migration won’t be too painful.

One is reminded of “The Outer Limits” - where control was passed along to the broadcaster.

We -TMF- control - what is permissible to speak?

I’m not sure why it would be confusing. Board opened under the headings involving financial stuff are staying opened but boards opened under politics, or not financial headings are not.

The retire early board was opened under “Politics & Current Events” which clearly isn’t a financial heading.

From my glance at that board it is largely political and very little financial stuff.

There are a ton of non-financial headings and boards under them. Largely most are rarely used from my past browsing attempts. There are a few exceptions.

I’m more curious as to new format of the boards. Sometimes “new” is better but often it isn’t. The one sure thing is that people will complain since most can’t handle change.

That is not correct. The retire early board was opened under the Retirement Discussions folder. It became Retire Early CAMPFIRE. Then the Retire Early Liberal Edition was opened under the Retirement Discussions folder. Both boards were eventually move to the Politics & Current Events folder by TMF. When TMF made this change, they forgot to edit the listing under the folders on the Boards Home page. It has been that way for several years and you can still see the erroneous page now.
