In praise of Walmart car batteries

My car battery died last Thursday. When I checked the maintenance records, I found I purchased it back in 2011, so it lasted 13 years. It had a 3 or 4 year guarantee.

That’s amazing. I typically get right at 3 years. Had one from Honda and started having troubles starting. Pulled my receipt and had like a week left on the 3 year warranty. Honda replaced it free. I went with AAA this time around as they came out ot the house and replaced it. They also offer a warranty but not an outright replacement.

Not sure if you are asking me or Intercst. Mine were Honda and AAA…

There are a small number of car battery manufacturers that make all the different brands. The EverStart is manufactured by Johnson Controls who also manufactures Kirkland, Interstate, Motorcraft, etc.

Obviously, I just happened to luck out with a good EverStart-branded battery. I’ve bought Interstate batteries that were crap.
