IMO the range is too short for the base model.
“Charging it up, it takes about 30 minutes.
A BrightDrop with a larger battery and dual-motor setup will bring its grand total up to $89,225 and a maximum 272-mile commuting range.
Now we’re talking. I assume the gasoline/diesel fuel savings will eventually pay for the Chevy BrightDrop van.
I’m thinking it will work for some applications. To deliver pizzas, groceries, prescriptions, etc would probably be ok. Fast recharge may make it work.
Area deliveries from say an Amazon distribution center would probably not work very well. Not enough range. But for delivery from local stores could be ok.
The all knowing, all seeing, all subsuming lord of information tells me that Amazon delivery vans run from 50 to 150 miles a day, with rural routes sometimes topping 200.
As nearly all of the Amazon vans running past my house are electric, I’d say there’s at least some market for one with 160m range ,but it wouldn’t answer all the needs.
